Positive Planning
So a little progress has been made regarding the wedding...I’m currently creating the save the dates by using a super easy website (http://www.magnetstreet.com/). I can’t wait to get them done and in the mail, we are hoping that they will be mailed out by January 2010.
Tonight we are going to the Bexley Monk to listen to a band that we might hire to play the wedding called MOJOFLO (http://www.myspace.com/mojoflomusic), we are super excited and hopping that it works out.
The websites are totally coming together, as well as the color pallet.
The date still seems so far away, which makes me procrastinating very easy. Thankfully my mom, wedding planner and bridesmaids are amazing and encouraging (I just think it’s because they are all excited to see what they get to wear)!!!
Other than that the Holiday tree is up and all the presents are wrapped, and honestly I’m SUPER excited for some family time.

The wishy washy bride to be
So I guess I have not updated the Blog in a while about the status of the wedding, and that’s because there is no update. We are listening to a few bands here and there, stalking photographers online, and still deciding who will marry us.
There are almost too many options with all of those decisions.
One thing that I have made progress on is the website, we have not one but two!!!!
www.funtjarvis.com
www.mywedding.com/jennyjoey
I’m having so much fun with creating them, but don’t worry I stopped at two!
Now with the holidays knocking at our door, it’s almost hard to think about the wedding and the details that we need to hash out. One thing I HAVE to stop procrastinating on is the save the dates, because our wedding is on a holiday I need to get them picked out and ready to mail out by the first of the year so that all of our guests can plan accordingly!
Another thing I’m being a total flake on is the color choice for the wedding. Originally I was all about the yellow and gray color pallet, and now I’m into the navy and gray/ pewter color pallet. I think it will go much better with the pool deck and it is still modern and elegant. Another detail that I like is with the flower arrangements can have dark purple/navy/white flowers with pops of yellow.
If you have any photos or suggestions on any and all of it let me know!!!!
Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving

Date and Time
Well we did It we picked a date and a location!!
Originally I want to resist the idea of a hotel wedding, just like every other one.
But my mom and Joey were both patient and insistent that we explore every possible option. I ended up falling in love with the pool deck at The Renaissance Hotel in Downtown, Columbus.
It will not only work out PERFECTLY for our budget but also for the out of town gests and even the ones that live downtown.
So Cheers to September 4, 2010

Location Location Location
The reception venue
Who would have thought that it would be so difficult to find.
I’m not your typical bride, I have no date, no dream venue , no dream dress, all I have is a theme and the thought that I’m about to get married to my life partner.
In my mind I have created my perfect city venue, the most unexpected location with the most unusual theme. It’s a whimsical party with games and stations oh my!
According to others they need to see more, they want to go explore ALL the other options. So I’m convincing myself to stay open minded and roll with it. I have time to go look at other venues, I have time to look at 5-10 different locations, I just don’t want it in a hotel, or at the conservatory, or the museum.
I want a totally unexpected location.
I know that part of a wedding planner’s job is to transform a space using lighting and décor to portray the theme or the feeling of the event. I want a raw space so hopefully we will be able to find one by Monday 11-2-09 because that is my deadline to pick a wedding date and venue.
If you have any suggestions of raw spaces, warehouses, lofts, land anything let me know
Cheers

Q& A
I admire the DIY Bride: most likely because I will never be one
So as I mentioned in an earlier post I’m going to meet with a wedding planner.
For some reason just the thought of this has made me feel like a calmer person, the idea that I might have an advocate. Most of you that know me know that when given the opportunity to throw a party I make it an event when given a budget I stretch it ..And any time I have the opportunity to be in the spot light I take it!
Well here is OUR spotlight... No it’s not a hair show or a DJ on crack or a turntable battle.. And it most certainly is revolving around a bag of dehydrated meat it’s our wedding.
By us having a wedding planner I fell that it will make this day a celebration of (I know this will sound totally cheesy) our life thus far, our relationship, and our future! I feel like they will help me get my plethora of kooky and perverted ideas out and translate them into a wonderful story for everyone to enjoy.
But I need some suggestions any questions that you advise me to ask about……..
Holla at yo bride to be

Short North Wedding Walk
Introducing the debut of the Short North Wedding Walk. On Thursday October 22nd, seven premier wedding specialists will share and showcase their expertise.
This promenade is the bridal brain trust of the Short North Wedding Collective. From gowns to gifts to photos and floral, these independent female entrepreneurs offer the best of service for the city’s modern bride.
Chic boutiques include Big Rock Little Rooster, an emporium of designer gowns including the coveted Vera Wang; On Paper, a custom stationer where modern classics are coupled with eco-chic offerings; and Collier West, the eclectic home décor and gift store that defines “I Do.” Nestled in the midst of these Short North destinations, Rose Bredl provides timeless flowers where your senses will be further titillated.
The Short North Wedding Walk will feature informative tips from planning expert Kasey Skobel-Conyers of Bliss Weddings and Event Design and Amy Carruthers of C Studios, a local illustrative photographer.
Each of these local wedding experts offers creativity, style and intimate customer service. “I have been catering to Columbus brides for over a decade,” states On Paper’s Joan Schnee. “The recent addition of Bakery Gingham and Big Rock Little Rooster, has finally topped the cake. The Short North officially has become a marital destination.”
Wedding enthusiasts will intimately gather at each of the Collective’s locations, gathering details, best practices and expert advice on planning the perfect nuptials. The evening will conclude at the new location of Bakery Gingham, where a taste and a toast to life and love will be shared.
The procession will take place in the Short North Arts District between East Russell Street and 1st Avenue, beginning at 5:30 P.M. Contact for reservations may be phoned to 614.297.8467. Further detail is available online at www.shortnorthweddingwalk.com.

Planning with Martha
This past weekend I forced myself to head over to Barns and Nobles and pick up a wedding planner...since its kind of hard to share my inspiration that I have shoved in to a little folder in my computer.
Man oh man the wedding section there is quite compact and has everything from inspiration books to guidelines for brides, grooms and bridesmaids. The options were endless, I looked through every binder and book that was available after an hour I decided on good-old Martha Stewart, The Keep Sake Wedding Planner.
When looking for a planner I wanted something that could help (attempt) to keep me organized. Something to force me to make decisions when it came to numbers, something to help me understand a seating chart, and more importantly how to tie a bow tie!! While I was at B&N I figured it was a good time to get my sister ( maid of honor), my mother , and Joey each their own book on weddings.
I actually think they all appreciated it, mostly Joey. This will let him know that I may have wedding on the brain but it’s just a quick little illness, one that gets cured within a year, and the after math is full of thank you cards and gift wrap.
Went and looked at the venue and north bank this weekend both look amazing ….but they are kind of small. Getting together with a wedding planner this week from Bliss Wedding in Columbus, Ohio

Wedding planning
My boyfriend - i guess i should call him my fiance and i just got engaged on September 20t 2009 at eagle lake at Lake Tahoe. It was very exciting and yes was surprised and a blubbering mess.
After he proposed and i was blowing snot bubbles out of my nose like a Chihuly Chandler i realized how extremely nervous i was.
I wasn't nervous about my future
I wasn't nervous about the wedding
I was nervous about planning the wedding
with my mom.
Where do you even begin ...how do you know what format to make the excel spread sheet in for your guests
how many people is to many
how soon after we are engaged do we have to start planning
Do we get engagement photos
who hosts the engagement party
what do you do if your parents are divorced
why cant i have two photographers
where do we have it
when do we have it
How much is to much
A rabbi or a friend
Since the wedding will be sometime in the fall do i have to use fall colors
it makes me want to pluck my eyelashes out
